CONCORD, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Redbirds 14U baseball team won three games on Saturday and captured a tournament championship in Concord.
They defeated the Black Sox 14U squad 11-3. Matthew Hurley was the winning pitcher as he allowed three hits and three runs (two earned) over two innings, striking out five and walking two.
The Redbirds amassed 13 hits in the game. Luke Barnes drove in four runs while Luke Stout went 3-for-4.
Stout drove in four runs on four hits to lead the Redbirds past the Tri-Town Tigers 14U squad 7-4. Hurley collected two hits in four at bats. Luke Stout and Caiden Searing each stole multiple bases.
Coldwater also defeated host Concord 3-2. Searing earned the win for Coldwater as he allowed one hit and no runs over three innings, striking out five and walking one. Stout and Searing each collected two hits for Coldwater.
Searing drove in two runs. Coldwater collected seven stolen bases for the game.
The Redbirds will travel to Fremont, Indiana for their next game on Monday.
