COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Another step towards the rehabilitation of a historic building at 22 West Pearl was taken during Wednesday night’s Coldwater Downtown Historic District Commission meeting.
They approved a request from GNR Rentals and Real Estate to remove and replace windows at the structure.
Architect Cody Newman from Driven Design said there are no historic windows left in the building.
Coldwater Neighborhood Services Director and City Planner Jake VanBoxel said over a year ago he wanted something done about the building that was the site of frequent vandalism following a fire in November of 2020.
Plans call for the interior to be renovated so that there could be residential units on the upper and lower levels with an office on the main level.
The exterior masonry work is being preserved.
