BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson High School Alumni Association has a long and successful history of supporting the Bronson Community Schools. The dedication and efforts of the founders created an association that continues today.
Its established purpose is to provide opportunities for students to continue their education through scholarships and other activities that will promote educational excellence.
Since the alumni association began, there have been monumental changes in education and in 2023, the BHSAA reorganized to meet the educational challenges of today’s world.
The 137th Annual Bronson High School Alumni Banquet is being held this Saturday, June 15, with the Social Hour beginning at 4:00 p.m.at the Chicago Street School gymnasium.
In past years, the Pot Luck Dinner has been held at 6:00 p.m. but this year it has been changed to 5:00 p.m.
Anyone who attended Bronson Community Schools, any past or present teacher, administration, or staff member, is automatically a member of the BHSAA. You didn’t have to graduate; you only had to attend Bronson Community Schools to be a member.
If you are a BHS alumni and haven’t been to an alumni banquet in a few years, you are encouraged to attend. There are several classes holding reunions this year.
In addition classes celebrating milestone reunions this year are:
10 years – 2014 40 years – 1984
20 years – 2004 50 years – 1974
25 years – 1998 60 years – 1964
30 years – 1994 70 years – 1954
They recently awarded nine $1,000 Scholarships to deserving graduates of Bronson High School and they will be honored at the banquet. The speaker for the evening is Bronson Community Schools superintendent Kate Wall.
The Bronson Area Historical Society will provide an extensive display of school memorabilia.
Just a reminder, they longer hold a business meeting or election of officers at the banquet.
