Sheryl Jean Iden, 72, of Burlington Township unexpectedly passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024, at her home.
A celebration of Sheryl’s life will be held Friday, June 21, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation, 1276 Tate Trail, Union City, MI, 49094. Interment will follow at Abscota Cemetery in Burlington Township.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Sheryl was born on February 7, 1952, in Coldwater, Michigan to Kenneth and Frances (Peavey) Roe. She attended Harper Creek High School and graduated with the Class of 1970.
Shortly after graduating, Sheryl married her 7th grade sweetheart, Dick E. Iden Jr. May 1, 1971 in Battle Creek, Michigan, at the Family Alter Chapel. He preceded her in death on July 4, 2023.
Sheryl loved to garden, plant flowers, put puzzles together, thrift shopping, watch movies at the theatre, as well as spend as much time as she could with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Dick and Sheryl would use their time cutting wood to keep their stove up and running. They enjoyed their time together. After his passing, Sheryl kept the wooden stove running and continued chopping wood.
Sheryl is survived by her mother, Frances Ann Roe; her children, Julie (Pete) Mathis of Union City, and Janice (Travis) Wiest of Battle Creek; her sister, Debbie (Gary) Anderson of Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Emily Wiest, Ethan Wiest, Parker Mathis, Flynn Mathis; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Dick, Sheryl is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth; and her brother, Douglas.
Memorial contributions can be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
