COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Redbirds 14U baseball team tied Colon 3-3 in the first game of a doubleheader on Thursday before they won the second game 15-0.
Coldwater pitcher Luke Stout allowed four hits and three runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out nine and walking three.
Mason Whelan, Logan Turner, Caiden Searing, and Matthew Hurley each collected one hit for Coldwater.
Coldwater collected 13 hits in the second game.
Will Knowlan, Stout and Turner each had three hits for Coldwater. Turner and Stout both drove in four runs. Caiden Searing collected two hits.
The Redbirds scored 11 runs in the first inning on the way to victory.
Knowlan was the winning pitcher for Coldwater as he gave up one hit and no runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking three.
Coldwater was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.
