COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Crews from the City of Coldwater have been performing restoration work at the Kid’s Kingdom playground in recent days.
The structure has been power washed while repairs to the wood and staining are underway. It’s hoped the staining can be completed by the end of the week.
City Manager Keith Baker says in his report for Monday’s City Council meeting that Community Engagement Coordinator Stephanie Burdick will be repainting the decorative pieces of the playground.
New mulch will also be installed in early August.
The playground is being closed intermittently as the work is being conducted.
It was built in the late 1990’s by volunteers from throughout the Coldwater community. But it has been the sight of numerous acts of vandalism over the years.
