(Reuters) – CarShield has agreed to a $10 million settlement to resolve charges of deceptive advertising of its vehicle service contracts, and has been barred from allowing misrepresentations by celebrity endorsers like Ice-T, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission said on Wednesday.
The payout will be made by CarShield and American Auto Shield, the administrator of its service contracts, the FTC said.
