BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – A tornado warning was issued for the southern part of Branch County late Tuesday afternoon after a series of thunderstorms led to reports of twisters in northeast Indiana.
A National Weather Service spotter reported a tornado northeast of Oliver Lake in LaGrange County, Indiana hit some structures.
They also reported that at 5:40 p.m., a confirmed tornado was located 10 miles south of Bronson, or 12 miles northwest of Angola, moving northeast at 20 mph.
A severe storm with a history of producing tornadoes was also reported west of Orland.
The tornado warning in southern Branch County was later extended to include Gilead, Kinderhook and Bethel. The all clear was sounded for all of Branch County at 6:15 p.m..
A tornado warning for central Hillsdale County was issued after a funnel cloud and possible tornado was seen near Camden at around 6:40 p.m..
The National Weather Service in northern Indiana says they will conduct a storm survey of damage extending from southeast of Ligonier in Noble County to east of Topeka and Plato in Lagrange County on Wednesday.
