COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch Intermediate School District Early Education Assistant Superintendent Cynthia Hutson reported to the Board of Directors on Wednesday that as of September 13 they were at 91 percent enrollment for Head Start and 97 percent enrollment for Early Head Start.
She indicated enrollment has been going well and they are able to fill classrooms that are open. Hutson reported one Head Start classroom in Girard has not been opened due to lack of staff.
Hutson says they still need two teachers, one for Girard and one for Bronson. They also need two Center Aides for Quincy and a Center Aide for Bronson.
The Head Start regional office told the district last February that grant funding could be reduced if Head Start enrollment did not increase. The B.I.S.D. has to be at 97 percent enrollment by February 23, 2025.
