BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School boys varsity soccer team will play for a MHSAA Division 2 District title after a 1-0 win over Harper Creek in the semifinals Monday night.
Even though the Cardinals outshot the host Beavers 21-5, the only goal of the game came from a nearly 40 yard shot from freshman Riath Shaamala with 16:01 left in the second half.
Franky Ramos made four saves in goal in the shutout.
The win improved Coldwater’s record to 14-6-1. They will face Parma Western in the District final at Harper Creek Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. The Panthers upset 11th ranked Jackson High 1-0 in the other semifinal Monday.
