BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Union City Chargers wrapped up Big 8 Conference cross country championships on Tuesday as both the boys and girls teams finished first in the final conference jamboree of the season which was hosted by Bronson.
Union City’s boys were first with 24 points followed by Bronson with 76 points and Quincy with 85 points.
Ben Gautsche of Union City won in a time of 17:17.76 followed by his teammate Jason Shoop who was second in 17:37.19. Cohen Burdick was fifth, Malachi Payne was seventh and Cullen Decker was ninth and Aidan Taylor was tenth.
Quincy was led by Chayse Jensen who was fourth in 17:54.70. Hunter Walker, Carter Feltner and Eddie Miller were 18th, 19th and 20th respectively.
Bronson’s top finisher was Adam Franks who was eighth in 18:32.80. Brayton Cosby was 12th, Carter Sikorski was 16th and Tyler Wilber was 17th.
Union City won the girls meet with 38 points followed by Quincy with 61 points and Bronson in third with 78 points.
Bronson’s Ashlynn Harris won in a time of 19:23.72 followed by Union City’s Skyler Fraley who was second in 20:21.79.
Allison Gautsche of Union City was third while Lainey Yearling of Quincy was fifth in 21:23.75.

Kendyl Musielewicz of Quincy was seventh, Alissa Skirka of Union City was eighth, Charlotte Crabbs of Quincy was ninth, Parker Williams of Union City was 10th, Alonna Goodsell of Bronson was 11th, Carly Smith of Union City was 15th, Elizabeth Arlt of Union City was 16th, Elizabeth Craig of Quincy was 17th, Lydia Wells of Bronson was 18th, Abbi Ferry of Bronson was 19th and McKenzie Hawks of Union City was 20th.
