ST. JOSEPH, MI (WTVB) – The season ended Wednesday night for the Coldwater High School boys varsity soccer team as they fell to fourth ranked Allendale 3-0 in the MHSAA Division Two Regional semifinals at St. Joseph High School.
Allendale got on the scoreboard early with a goal just 3:24 into the contest. They took a 2-0 lead into halftime after scoring on a rebound after a corner kick with 22:54 to play in the half.
Their final goal came with 15:41 to play in the second half to secure the victory.
Shots for the two teams were even at 8-8, with Franky Ramos making four saves in goal for the Cardinals, including stopping a penalty kick with 28:30 to play in the first half.
Coldwater finished the season at 15-7-1, while Allendale improved to 20-1 with their 13th shutout of the year.
They will face defending Division Two state champion Grand Rapids Christian Saturday morning in the Regional finals after Christian beat Sturgis 4-0 in the other semifinal Wednesday.
The Cardinal roster featured just three seniors, including 26 goal scorer Dawood Gabry, as well as Rashed Ahmed and Asher Vandellen.
