LONDON (Reuters) – British finance minister Rachel Reeves said that she would increase the day-to-day health budget by 22.6 billion pounds ($29.33 billion), a major uplift in spending on the state-run National Health Service.
“I am providing a 22.6 billion pound increase in the day to-day health budget and a 3.1 billion pound increase in the capital budget over this year and next year,” Reeves said in her first budget.
“This is the largest real-terms growth in day-to-day NHS spending outside of Covid since 2010.”
