BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Branch County girls volleyball teams got their final tune ups in Wednesday night ahead of the M.H.S.A.A. tournament which starts next week and a couple of players recorded personal milestones.
Coldwater host a Mini Quad meet and lost to Mendon three games to nothing by scores of 25-21, 25-22 and 25-20. Coldwater’s Ava Longstreet recorded her 500th career kill.
Bronson won both of their matches at the Coldwater Mini Quad. The Vikings defeated Battle St. Phillip and Adrian Lenawee Christian by scores of three games to nothing.
Quincy lost a pair of matches in the Coolest Gym in Michigan. They were beaten by Sturgis 25-20, 25-15 and by Pennfield 25-25, 25-18.
Danika Skirka keeps rewriting the Quincy record book. She set a new school record for total career blocks. The previous record of 195 blocks was held by Sanora Finley.
Olivia Davenport had 22 digs and three aces on Wednesday night while Ashlyn Fickle and Abby Leosh both had six kills and Kyha Brewer had eight assists.
