CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Calhoun County will once again illuminate all County Buildings in green for a week as part of the nationwide initiative known as Operation Green Light for Veterans.
Starting on Monday, county buildings and landmarks will be illuminated in green to show support for veterans and raise awareness about the vital resources available to veterans and their families.
The program is entering its third year. Each year, County Veterans Service Officers help nearly 200,000 former service members access more than $52 billion in federal health, disability, and compensation benefits.
In addition to illuminating county buildings and landmarks, Calhoun County encourages residents, businesses, and organizations to participate by changing one light bulb in their home or business to a green bulb.
