BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – According to figures from the Michigan Secretary of State office, over 10,000 ballots have already been cast by Branch County voters ahead of Tuesday’s General Election.
That includes 5,123 ballots cast during eight days of early in person voting at the Dearth Community Center.
Of the 6,466 absentee ballots that had been requested, 5,600 have been returned.
The 10,723 ballots that have already been cast represents just over 30 percent of the 35,399 registered voters in Branch County.
The voter turn out for this year’s election in Branch County is expected to top the last two presidential elections when 62.6 percent turned out in 2020 and the 56.85 percent turnout in 2016.
Statewide, almost 3.1 million voters have already cast ballots which includes over 1.2 million who took advantage of early in person voting.
