UNION TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Firefighters were able to save a structure from a large outside fire on Arbogast Road south of Francisco Road on Sunday afternoon.
The Union City Fire Department reported on its Facebook page that they were called to the fire at 1:32 p.m..
They responded with a truck, a tanker and a engine and managed to stretch a line to protect the structure from the flames.
Mutual aid was requested from Sherwood Township and Bronson Fire Departments.
Assistance was also provided by the Branch County Sheriff’s Department and Life Care Ambulance.
It was part of a busy weekend for Union City firefighters. They along with firefighters from Athens, Tekonsha and Newton Townships provided mutual aid to the Burlington Township Fire Department on Saturday afternoon when a structure fire broke out on Q Drive South.
Union City provided two engines, a tanker and a truck when they were called at 3:52 p.m.. Crews cleared the scene at 8:38 p.m.. No further details on the fire were available.
