OVID TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Department has released more information about a crash that took the life of a motorcyclist on Tuesday afternoon.
The crash involving a semi and a 2004 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle was reported at 1:52 p.m. on Fenn Road at the I-69 north bound exit ramp.
The 24-year-old male motorcyclist from Coldwater was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An investigation indicated that the semi driven by a 52-year-old man from Chesterfield, Virginia pulled out from the exit ramp to go west on Fenn Road before the motorcycle hit the trailer of the semi.
Fenn Road was shut down to allow for the clean up of the crash and the investigation.
The crash remains under investigation by the Branch County Sheriff’s Office who are being assisted by The Michigan State Police reconstruction division. The names of those involved have not been released.
Besides the State Police, the Sheriff’s Department received assistance from the Coldwater Fire Department, LifeCare Ambulance, the Sheriff’s Department Victim Services Unit, 911 Towing, Dutcher’s Funeral Home and the Medical Examiner.
