STURGIS, MI – The Coldwater Cardinals accomplished on Thursday night what no Cardinal volleyball squad has been able to do since 2011 – win a District Championship. The Cardinals did so with a 25-20, 25-17, 25-16 sweep of Sturgis in the championship match of the MHSAA Division 1 Volleyball District hosted by the Trojans.

Coldwater will take a 24-11-3 record to next week’s Division 1 Regional Semifinals at East Lansing, where they will take on Holt Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Rams won the Mason District Thursday with a 27-29, 31-29, 25-20, 25-27, 16-14 win over the host school.
