Andrew S. “Andy” Parzych Jr., age 80, passed away early Wednesday, November 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 1, 1943, to Andrew and Irene (Berlinski) Parzych Sr. in Mobile, AL, but soon called Michigan home. He graduated from Monroe Catholic Central and continued his education at Eastern Michigan University, where he received his bachelor’s degree. He then went on to earn his master’s degree from Michigan State University.
On August 27, 1966, he married the love of his life, the former Ann Laird in Hillsdale, MI. Together they cherished 58 years full of love, laughter and endless adventures.
Andy dedicated many years to the public school system working as a high school teacher at Quincy High School and then as a principal at Jonesville High School before retiring in 2004.
He had a love for running and instilled his passion in many students over the years as both a track and cross-country coach. He was an avid outdoorsman whether it was ice fishing, fly fishing or on the water boating. Andy enjoyed card nights and board games with his friends and family. He truly loved exploring the world with his best friend, Ann right by his side. Above all, he cherished the moments spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, proud father, doting Papa and cherished friend to so many. His generous nature and ability to always put others first will never be forgotten. Andy will be sorely missed.
