Dallas E. McFarland, 80, of Coldwater passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024 in Coldwater.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Coldwater Nazarene Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home.
Dallas was born April 13, 1944 to Albert and Eleanore (McDougall) McFarland in Evart, MI. He married Diane Cox on February 17, 1964 in Lincoln Park, MI.
Dallas was a minister for 42 years serving at many locations including the Coldwater Church of Nazarene for 12 years and retired from the Eaton Rapids Church of Nazarene. He served on the mission board for the Michigan District Nazarene Campgrounds in Vicksburg for 41 years.
Dallas was an avid reader, always having a new book to read. He read the Bible 7 times through, as his faith was very important to him. Dallas also had a sweet tooth, never turning down a piece of cake, ice cream or an ice-cold Dr. Pepper. Dallas enjoyed riding his bike, spending time with his grandchildren, and playing family games, even participating with the children in a fun game of kickball. When spending time with his family, he loved to share his dad jokes.
Dallas is survived by his loving wife, Diane McFarland; his children Dallas McFarland, Jr. of Coldwater, Scott (Kaprice) McFarland of Angola, IN, Chad (Amy) McFarland of Coldwater, Deanna (Eddie) Little of Lake Wales, FL; his siblings Phyllis Richards of Florida, Deloris (Rev. Richard) Barriger of Caro, MI, Avis (Jerry) Cesal of Chesaning,MI, Curtis McFarland of Holland, MI, Janis (Archie) Wickam of Coldwater, Cletus (Kristi) McFarland of Coldwater; his grandchildren Lexie (Kyle), Britlee, Alexys, Evelyn, Brady (Elka), Triniti, Bronson, Brodie, Trey, Maycee, Halie, Gibson, Brody, Addi, Kody; his great grandchildren Brooks and Avereigh; many nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
Dallas was preceded in death by his sister Lois Foster.
As Dallas frequently said, “Enjoy the journey.”
