HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office says they have received numerous calls in reference to a phone scam.
According to a statement posted on the department’s Facebook page, Hillsdale County residents are getting calls from someone identifying themselves as a Hillsdale County Deputy.
The caller says they have a warrant for their arrest and that a bond needed to be paid over the phone or else the person getting the call would be arrested.
Hillsdale County Sheriff Scott Hodshire reminds you to NEVER send money to anyone over the phone.
Law Enforcement entities including the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office will never give warrant information over the phone.
