Geraldine “Geri” M. Bloom, 71, of Coldwater passed away November 26, 2024 at Lakeland Rehab and Healthcare Center in Angola, IN.
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 6, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Wyatt Smith officiating.
Prior to the service a memorial gathering will be held from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Following the service, a procession will take place heading to Little River Railroad for a gathering of family and friends.
Geraldine was born October 6, 1953, to Reuben and Sophia (Pierson) Miller of Sturgis, MI. Geri attended Asbury College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1975. During that time, Geri spent a summer in Italy as a missionary.
After graduating, Geri went to work for CTS Corporation in Berne, IN as a Lab Technician. While working there she met the love of her life, Terry Bloom. After the blizzard of 1978, Terry and Geri got married April 15, 1978, at Scott Church in Scott, IN.
After raising her 4 children, Geri went on to work as the Director of Child Evangelism Ministries (CEM) in Elkhart, IN for 10 years. During her time there, Geri went on missionary work to Togo, Africa to help expand the teaching of Jesus through CEM. Their efforts have reached over 10,000 children.
Geri was instrumental in helping her family and volunteers operate the Little River Railroad steam train in Coldwater where she served on the Board of Directors for many years. Geri also enjoyed traveling on AMTRAK, camping and spending time with her grandkids.
Geraldine is survived by her husband, Terry Bloom of Coldwater; Her children Heather (Erich) Kaiser of Fremont, IN, Travis (Lisa) Bloom of Fremont, IN, Trevor (Amanda) Bloom of Emma, IN, Tyler Bloom of Battle Creek, MI; Her siblings Elizabeth (Fred) Carmel, Randy (Cheryl) Miller, Kenneth (Pamela) Krontz, Dennis (Teri) Krontz; Her grandchildren Addison Kaiser, Nevin Bloom, Declan Bloom, Cullen Bloom, Hudson Bloom, Lydia Bloom and Chester Bloom; and her many nieces and nephews.
