STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – Bronson senior Kam Brackett had a personal milestone on Tuesday night but the Sturgis Trojans led throughout the game as they defeated the Bronson Vikings 47-37.
Brackett drained a three point bucket late in the second quarter which gave him 1,000 career points.
Sturgis led 10-9 after the first quarter and then used a 15-7 second quarter to take a 25-16 halftime lead.
The second half was fairly even as Sturgis led 37-27 after three quarters. Bronson was unable to make a late run as their record dropped to 1-1.
Brackett fell hard and was injured early in the fourth quarter but returned to the game after receiving treatment. He led the Vikings with 15 points while Boston Bucklin had eight points.
After scoring 15 points off the bench last week in the opening night loss at Coldwater, Lukis Bir was in the Sturgis starting line up Tuesday night and he announced his presence with authority as he scored a game-high 25 points.
Sturgis also won the J.V. game over Bronson 68-54.
