BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The first major winter weather system is expected to move into the area on Wednesday which has led the National Weather Service to issue a number of advisories and warnings for significant snowfall.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been posted for Branch and Steuben Counties from 5:00 p.m. Wednesday until 1:00 a.m. Friday for 3 to 5 inches of snow.
A Winter Storm Warning has been posted for the time period for St. Joseph, Calhoun and Kalamazoo Counties for 5 to 10 inches of snow.
Gusty winds as high as 45 mph could bring down tree branches. Blowing and drifting snow as well as low visibilities can also be expected.
If you need to drive, plan on slippery road conditions and slow down.
The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes.
