COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The 11th annual Branch County Shop with a Hero was held on Thursday night.
Members of various Branch County police, fire and emergency departments are paired with children to help them shop for Christmas at the Coldwater Wal Mart.
Each child is given a gift card to use. They and their First Responder then shop for their family, the Marine Corp Toys of Tots campaign and themselves.
Gift wrapping is provided by Walmart staff and staff from the various agencies.
Funds for the event are donated by local citizens and from the proceeds of an annual golf outing held each summer by the Lakeland Correctional Facility Employees Club.
