QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy High School varsity boys basketball rolled past the Morenci Bulldogs 62-33 at home Monday night.
The Orioles came out hot in the first quarter and took a 28-8 lead. Brandon Miner scored 13 points in the first quarter. Quincy carried their high energy defense into the second quarter and was leading at half, 39-14.
The third quarter was Quincy’s best defensive quarter, only allowing four points total and scoring 14 points. Going into the fourth the Orioles were ahead 53-18. Quincy finished out strong and came away with the win 62-33.
Nine players scored for Quincy, including, led by Brandon Miner with 17 points, three rebounds, and three steals, Ryan Kempter with 12 points, three rebounds, four assists, and four steals, Alex Dunn with eight points, four rebounds, and one block, and Clayton Benson with seven points and five rebounds.
The Orioles now 3-3 on the season and 1-2 in the Big 8.
