COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Randall Hazelbaker was selected as the Chair of the Branch County Board of Commissioners for 2025 during their organizational session on Tuesday morning.
He previously served as the Chair in 2021 and was first elected as a County Commissioner in 2010.
Tim Stoll had been the Chair for three years. Stoll motioned for Hazelbaker to take over as Chair on Tuesday which was seconded by Jon Houtz. There were no other nominations.
Stoll was selected as the Vice Chair for this year. Again, there were no other nominations.
It was the first meeting for newly elected Fourth District Commissioner Rick Hollister. Hazelbaker, Houtz, Alan McClellan and Stoll all return for another term after they were re-elected.
All five commissioners were sworn in before the meeting.
Commissioners also agreed to keep the meeting schedule the same for the next year.
Regular meetings have been held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 4:30 p.m. with work sessions being held on the Thursdays before a regular meeting.
A number of liaison assignments were also approved. They included McClellan being assigned to the Marble Lake board, Hollister moving to the Substance Abuse Board, and Stoll retaining responsibilities for the Veterans Board and Public Health.
