BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater girls basketball team jumped out to a 19-3 first quarter lead and cruised to a 48-20 Interstate 8 Conference win at Jackson Northwest on Tuesday night.
Mya Porter led Coldwater with 21 points, seven steals and five assists. Marie Powers grabbed four rebounds. Coldwater is now 5-3 overall and 3-0 in the I-8.
Northwest won the J.V. game 26-20.

In other Branch County girls basketball on Tuesday night, the Bronson Vikings used a big second half to defeat Branch County rival Quincy 43-30 on the Vikings home court.
The Orioles led 16-15 at halftime but the Vikings turned the game around with a 17-5 third quarter.
Aubree Calloway led Bronson with a game-high 16 points while Payton Smith added 12 points.
Quincy was led by Kendyl Musielewicz with 10 points.
Bronson is now 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the Big 8. Quincy drops to 3-4 overall and 0-4 in the conference. Bronson won the J.V. game 42-30.

The Union City Chargers struggled to score in the second half as they lost to Stockbridge 49-24 at McNett Fieldhouse.
The Chargers trailed 22-18 at halftime but only managed to score six points in the final two quarters. Ellie Williams led Union City with nine points. The Chargers are now 3-5 overall and 0-2 in the Big 8.
Union City won the J.V. game 39-26.
