COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency reported on Wednesday they have seen an increase in the number of reported cases of respiratory illnesses, including Flu, COVID, and RSV over the last two weeks.
According to a press release from the agency, statewide surveillance shows Michigan’s Influenza activity for the previous week was listed as “High”.
They add it is not too late to get vaccinated to reduce your risk of severe illness or hospitalization.
Medical Director Doctor Karen Luparello says they are encouraging those at greatest risk for severe illness to talk with their provider or call their office to discuss concerns.
Luparello stated, “Vaccines for Flu, COVID, Pertussis (whooping cough), Pneumonia, and RSV are widely available within our communities, including local pharmacies, physician offices, and at your local health department office.”

Flu shot clinics are also available at the St. Joseph County office on Tuesdays and at the Hillsdale County office on Wednesdays.
