Barbara J. “Barb” Hofmann, 85, of Coldwater passed away Friday, January 10, 2024 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
A service will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
A visitation will be held prior to service from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home.
A private interment will take place at Oak Grove in Coldwater on a later date.
Barbara was born January 24, 1939, to Frederick and Dorothy (Hinton) Hofmann in Detroit, MI.
She worked at Dog N Suds, The Daily Reporter, Quality Springs, Coldwater Community Health Center, and the Coldwater Regional Center as a switchboard operator for 10 years until her retirement in 1992 when the facility closed.
Barb attended the United Methodist Church, Church of Christ where she was baptized, and Northview Christian Church. She was a member of the Coldwater Moose, Eagles, Coldwater Computer Club at the Senior Center, and the Red Hat Society (Gabmores) in Florida.
Barb enjoyed her many dogs throughout the years, dancing, camping, knitting, crocheting, going out to dinner with friends, being on the computer, spending her retired years during the winter in Florida, and most recently participating in activities at Maple Lawn, especially Euchre Sundays and Happy Hour.
Barbara is survived by her daughters Pamela (Armond) Morris of Coldwater, Patricia Himes-Fraley of Coldwater; Former son in law Danny Fraley of Homer; her step sister Debra (Denny) Ambrose of Coldwater; her grandchildren Matthew Morris, Robert (Holly) Morris, Major Jared (Alicia) Himes, Dylan Himes, Colin (David) Fraley, and former exchange daughter from Thailand, Malada (May) Yupensuk; 11 great grandchildren; her close friends Rhue Hunsicker, Mary Mason, Geri Soroka; and longtime family friend Dolores Whitman.
Barb was preceded in death by her 2 stillborn boys, Mark Louis Groholske & Craig Groholske, her sister Carol Wittbrodt, and stepsister Judy Bradley; close friend Joyce Parks; former husbands Louis Groholski, John Luce, and Kenneth Dirschell, and her beloved pet, Benny.
Memorials may be directed to the Animal Aid of Branch County.
