John Frederick Taber, 78, passed away November 28, 2024 at his home in North Richland Hills, Texas from complications of Parkinson’s disease.
John was born June 22, 1946 in Coldwater, Michigan to Wilbur (Bill) and Margaret Otto Taber, the youngest of three children
He was a talented craftsman and woodworker. John loved playing cards and dominoes and fishing with lifelong friends from Michigan and Texas, as well as th ones he made through his work and his business, Taber Contracting.
Some of his talent is highlighted with projects that included work at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and several businesses in the historic district of Grapevine, Texas.
John is preceded in death by his sister Rita Taber Traxler and survived by his sister Bonnie Taber Case. John is also survived by his wife Lauel (Laurie) Richardson Taber; his son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Betsy Taber; his daughter, Heather Taber; and his stepchildren, Brent Blanchard, Cheri Stark Perry,, and Holly Blanchard Bellan. John is also survived by his grandchildren Bryce, Shelby, Jeremiah, Tana, Seth, Hunter, Joel, Deven, and Kaitlyn. Great-grandchildren include Elijah, Benjamin, Lucette, and JD, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
John never met a stranger and will be remembered for his smile and his firm handshake.
