Julie Jestice Games, 64, of Hillsdale passed away Friday, January 10, 2025 at her home.
A memorial service will be Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillsdale First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Scott Cress officiating.
The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, January 24, 2025 at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
She was born on February 21, 1960, in Monroe, Michigan, to Charles and Beverly (France) Jestice. She married Martin “Marty” Games on August 14, 1982, and he survives.
Julie graduated from Dearborn High School in 1978 and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Michigan in 1985.
Julie worked in real estate for 32 years in Hillsdale, Branch, and Lenawee counties. She was a member of the Board of Realtors in all three counties and a past President of the Hillsdale County Board of Realtors. She was the current Team Leader/Associate Broker for Century 21 Affiliated in Hillsdale, Camden, and Quincy as well as a Broker/Owner of Games Realty Team, LLC.
Together, with her husband Marty, they owned the Domino’s Pizza stores in Hillsdale, Albion, and Coldwater from 1985-2004.
Julie was a member of the Little Red Wagon Child Study, Hillsdale Jaycees and she served as a past secretary for the State of Michigan Jaycees. She was a member and officer of the Hillsdale Downtown Business Association, Hillsdale County United Way, and was the Chair of the Great American Parade from 2010-2020.
She was a Fayette Township Precinct Delegate, Delegate to the State of Michigan Republican party, and past President of the Hillsdale County Republican Party. She was a Hillsdale County Commissioner from 2017-2020 and the district chairmen to Congressman Tim Walberg for many years.
Julie was a lifetime member of the University of Michigan Alumni Association as well as a 46-year Michigan Football season ticket holder. She was a member of the Hillsdale Presbyterian Church where she previously served as a Deacon and was a current member of the Mission Committee. She was actively serving as Vice President for the Board of Directors for the Reading Emergency Unit and was a member of the Hillsdale Golf and Country Club.
Julie loved her family and enjoyed traveling and camping with them. She especially enjoyed her yearly trip to Melbourne Beach, Florida. She also loved watching all sports, playing bunco and golf, as well as supporting her grandchildren with their activities.
Julie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Marty; three daughters, Devin (Nygel) Games, of Miami, Florida, Margot Games, and Amelia Games of Hillsdale; three grandchildren, Ashton Cramer, Anamarie Wentz, and Abigale Wentz; three siblings, John (Kim) Jestice of Northville, Michigan, Janet (Tony) Fyock of West Chicago, Illinois, and Jodi Wertz of Dearborn, Michigan.
Memorial contributions are suggested for the grandchildren’s college funds, care of Margot Games.
