BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Retired Bronson Deputy Fire Chief Ken Stutzman was honored and thanked during Monday night’s Bronson City Council meeting for his 58 years of service to the Bronson Area Fire Association.
Stutzman was presented with a proclamation by Mayor William Rinehart.
Stutzman thanked his fellow Bronson firefighters.
Fire Chief Scott Wilber said Stutzman’s retirement was one of three in his department over the last year.
The Bronson Fire Department is honoring Stutzman by naming it’s new training room after him.
Wilber said Stutzman will continue to be on medical runs during the daytime. He added they are fully staffed with 25 firefighters with 13 of them medically licensed.
Wilber is anticipating two or three more retirements over the next year. He said the department will try to “up their game” when it comes to recruiting efforts.
