Harry “Skip” W. Vanderpool, 75, of Coldwater passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025, peacefully in his home.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
There will be no service held following the visitation.
Harry was born June 27, 1949, to Donald E. and Dorothy M. (Dulaney) Vanderpool in Hudson, MI.
He graduated from Coldwater High School in 1967. He then worked at the A & P store until 1968 before deciding to honorably serve as a member of the United States Army until 1970. After Skip’s time as a heavy equipment operator in Vietnam with the Army, he worked for Voltek in Coldwater for 35 plus years.
Skip lived his life with simple pleasures including playing and coaching softball, faithfully following the Detroit Tigers and Lions, and cutting lumber with his brother Gary at the sawmill they operated on together.
In his free time, he also enjoyed going to toy tractor shows with his best friend Tom Olmstead, making trips to Sam’s Club and Costco, and attending tractor reunions. Skip always ensured his dad’s woodworking shop had all the tools necessary.
Most of all, Skip loved spending time with his friends and family.
Harry is survived by his siblings LaRay (Deb) Vanderpool of Montgomery; Gary (Tammy) Vanderpool of Montgomery; Ruth Ann (Bill) Vanderpool-Combs of Coldwater; and daughter Micki Jo Vanderpool of Fremont, IN.
Harry is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Donald “Butch” Vanderpool; his sister Helen Mae Vanderpool Aiken.
