MUSKEGON, MI (WTVB) – Bronson’s Morgan McConn’s wrapped up high school bowling career on Saturday by winning the girls M.H.S.A.A. Division Four championship.
McConn was the top seed after the morning qualifying session. She then defeated Justine Moore 430-296 in the opening round of match play.

McConn then defeated Taylor Nutt of Ravenna 385-337 and won the state title with a 407-302 victory over Reagan Baker of Burton Atherton as McConn avenged a loss to Baker in the opening round of bracket play last year.
Nick Cooper reported for MHSAA.com that McConn had reached the Finals all of the past three years, with a trip to the quarterfinals as a freshman her previous best run. McConn said, “You can say all year that you’re going to go to state, but you don’t really know until Regionals. And then when I got here (I’m) obviously really nervous. I just had to stay positive.”
Bronson head coach Leah Friedel said, “It’s been a pleasure to have Morgan on my team. This is like accumulation of all her work. (I’m) so proud of her.”
Meanwhile, Coldwater’s Vinnie Beekman did not qualify for the match play portion of the boys Division Two individual finals at Century Lanes in Waterford after he had a six game total of 1,022 in the morning session.
