HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – The manager of the Hillsdale Municipal Airport is resigning due to what she calls a “negative atmosphere” about the airport.
Ginger Moore’s resignation letter was dated on Thursday and is on the agenda for Monday night’s Hillsdale City Council meeting.
She stated, “while I am grateful for my time here, I also feel compelled to share that the negative atmosphere that has been surrounding the airport whether it be in town, at City Council meetings or on social media has brought me to a point where I believe it is in my best interest to step away and retire.”
Moore says she plans to work with the new management and make for a smooth transition. She has been the airport manager for eight years.
The City of Hillsdale’s web site says the airport is a State of Michigan licensed “Public Use-General Utility Airport.” The runway was recently reconstructed and expanded to 5,000 feet by 100 feet.
