Calvin Hamilton, 45, of Coldwater passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at his home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with Pastor Terry Siler officiating. Burial will follow at Burlington Township Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday, March 23 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Calvin was born December 10, 1979 in Coldwater to Clennon Hamilton and Ruth Ann Brown.
He married Heather Rakoske August 31, 2019. When they first met, Heather noticed he had the best smile that melted her heart, but also knew he was up to no good, along with pretty eyes and long eyelashes to go with it, which sealed the deal for her. “He was too hot and I couldn’t stay away from him.”
Calvin was the owner and operator of Hamilton Flooring. He enjoyed ice fishing, hunting, and spending time on the lake. His siblings would always look forward to family weddings, knowing it would provide an opportunity for Calvin to show off his dance moves. He would buy fancy shoes with slippery soles so he could glide across the dance floor.
Aside from his dancing, Calvin was always up for a good bet. There was no dare too wild or challenge too outrageous, especially when it came to entertaining his nieces and nephews. At one of their annual floats, Calvin was dared to bite a frog, which he did. He also dared other nieces and nephews to do the same and he would pay them if they did. There were many of the kids who had lined up to do it, but only his daughter, Emma actually went through with it, and she made sure he paid up.
Calvin was a selfless and generous person who would give the shirt off his back, or last dollar in his pocket to anyone in need.
Surviving besides his wife, Heather Rakoske are three children, Ethan, Emma and Evan Hamilton; mother, Ruth Ann Diver; siblings, Brad Goshorn, Tammy (Mark) Ferguson, Chris (Samantha) Hamilton, Tracy (Chad) Martin, Angel Mosby, Michelle Johnson and Lisa (Scott) Gager; and many nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clennon Hamilton; brother Clennon Lee Hamilton; and brother-in-law, Doug Johnson.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
