COLDWATER, MI (WTVB)- With the deadline for applications now April 22, the Branch Intermediate School District Board of Education hopes to have its new superintendent in place by July 1, 2025.
Kris Jenkins is retiring this summer, and the BISD board has hired the Michigan School Board Association to assist with the replacement process. Consultant Mark Dobias met with the board this week to lay out a timeline, which includes a special board meeting May 7 at 4:00 p.m. to review all candidates, select the candidates to interview, and formulate interview questions.
The first round of candidate interviews will be May 13 and May 14 at 6:00 p.m. at the Branch Area Careers Center.
The second round of interviews will be May 21 at 6:00 p.m. the Careers Center, with a special meeting scheduled after that to select a candidate.
The board has determined the salary range for the new superintendent will be $161,859 to $171,197, with an offer of a three-year contract.
