COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners appointed four persons to the Mental Health Board during their regular meeting Tuesday afternoon.
County Commissioner Tim Stoll said there were five nominees.
Audio PlayerSince Commissioner Jon Houtz attended the meeting via Zoom, he was unable to vote.
Karl Duda, Megan Garn, Wendy B. Sayler and Rose Signor were elected to the board.
Duda, Garn and Sayler all received four votes while Signor had three votes and Tracy Kelley had one vote.
In other business, Branch County Administrator Frank Walsh said they are working on renewing an animal control contract with Hillsdale County which is scheduled to expire at the end of 2026.
Audio PlayerThe Commissioners also formally approved a request from Sheriff Fred Blankenship to start the Circuit Court Bailiff and Court Security Deputy at the four year pay level of the current Police Officers of Michigan union contract.
The rate of pay would be just over $23 an hour which is about a dollar an hour less than the salary for the District Court Bailiff and Assignment Clerk which was approved by Commissioners earlier this month.
