Eleanor L. Siler, 94, of Coldwater, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at The Laurels of Coldwater.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Josh Englehart from Agape Church officiating. Interment will follow at Lester Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 28, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Eleanor was born October 12, 1930 in Branch County, MI to Vernon & Irene (Rice) Ewers. She married Richard J. Siler December 10, 1946 in Fremont, IN. Together they celebrated over 50 years of marriage. He preceded her in death January 10, 1997.
Eleanor was a clerk at the former Kroger Store in Coldwater for 32 years, retiring in 1991. She was a great cook and enjoyed canning, quilting and crocheting. She spent time on her farm where she would grow and sell potatoes and strawberries.
Eleanor enjoyed bowling on a league and loved traveling throughout the US and Europe; fishing in the upper peninsula, mushroom hunting and spending the winter months in Florida.
Eleanor is survived by her children Cherry (Jim) Sindell of Hillsdale, Rodney Siler of Quincy; her siblings Kenneth (Charlene) Ewers of Litchfield, Ronald (Elizabeth) Ewers of Ocala, FL; her grandchildren Becky Smith, Shannon “Mike” Siler, Jeremy Siler, Jonathon Rakoske, Tony Rakoske, Heather Rakoske and many great and great, great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Larry Siler, her daughter Brenda Rakoske, her sister Evelyn Sharp, her grandson Casey Sindell and her grandson-in-law Calvin Hamilton.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
