Marylou J. Ansari, 82, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Coldwater, MI passed away February 15, 2025 in Louisville.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater with Rev. Fr. Dan Hyman officiating. Interment will follow at West Girard Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the church.
Marylou was born July 29, 1942 in Detroit, MI to Richard & Lucille (Cotter) Janes. She married Lutifali Ansari on April 18, 1970 in Northville, MI. He preceded her in death January 16, 2010.
Marylou earned her Master of Social Work from Wayne State University. She began her career at the Department of Social Services in Detroit in 1966, working there until 1974. After relocating to Coldwater, she worked at the Coldwater Regional Center from 1977-1992 and then for 10 years for Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility.
Marylou was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, the National Association of Social Work and the American Contract Bridge League. She volunteered with CHC Hospice and had formerly belonged to Altrusa of Branch County, where she served on the Teen Share Board. Marylou belonged to the Michigan Association of School Boards and had served on the Coldwater Community School Board. She enjoyed the arts and was active with the Coldwater Community Theater.
Marylou is survived by her son Joe (Rebecca) Ansari of Louisville, KY; her siblings Dennis Janes of Fremont, MI, Frances Brandi of Plymouth, MI, Janet (Tom) Janes-Leaton of Vienna, VA; her grandchildren Chalen (Rob) Puhalski, Jackson Ansari, Samantha Ansari and Emily Ansari; her great granddaughter Aria Puhalski and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Douglas Janes, Patrick Janes and her sister Deborah Martlock.
In lieu of flowers, financial contributions in memory of Marylou may be made to Tibbits Opera House or St. Charles Borromeo Church.
