Jewell D. Burdette, 90 of Bronson, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025 at LakeHouse Coldwater, MI.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place with a memorial service to be held Friday, April 4, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
He was born September 8,1934 to Norman and Catherine (Colb) Burdette on September 8, 1934 in Creagerstown, MD.
Following his graduation from Thurmont High School in Maryland, Jewell honorably served his country in the United States Army as a member of the Alaskan Arctic Unit.
April 6, 1963 Jewell married Kathleen Morrison in Cleveland, OH and she preceded him in death October 26, 2020.
Jewell was a man devoted to his family and his to his faith. He was a lifelong member of his non-denominational Christian group and served as dedicated member of the Sierra Club out his passion for nature and the environment.
As a true outdoorsman, Jewell shaped his working career within agriculture and had dedicated his own tree farm in Bronson to be part of the national forest.
Jewell greatly valued the peace and beauty of nature, the assurance and strength of his faith; and above all else, the love and memories he shared with his family.
Jewell leaves behind his sons Daniel (Lena) Burdette of Summerville, SC, Jamie (Heather Hutcherson) Burdette of Hillsdale; his grandchildren Alivia Burdette, Cameron Burdette, Devon Burdette; and his many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife Kathy Burdette, Jewell was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Barbara Shipley and Jean Hohman.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Sierra Club.
