STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – The National Weather Service spent part of the day Monday surveying storm damage in Sturgis, and they say the damage was inconclusive as to whether a tornado actually touched down Sunday.
The NWS says for now it has been preliminarily ruled as straight line wind damage and that more details will be forthcoming as the damage is further reviewed.
The weather service has confirmed three EF-1 tornados touched down Sunday, one in Edwardsburg, MI and two in the northern Indiana counties of Starke and Marshall.
The weather service says more areas will be surveyed today.
