COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A presentation for Coldwater High School and Legg Middle School parents on vaping that had to be postponed last month will now be held Thursday, April 17 at 6:00 p.m. at the Coldwater High School Cafeteria.
The parent vaping education session is being held in collaboration with the Branch County Substance Abuse Task Force, Branch Hillsdale St. Joseph Community Health Agency, and Southwest Michigan Behavioral Health.
The event is designed for parents of students in grades 6 through 12 to provide information about vaping, its health risks, and how families can take proactive steps to prevent and address vaping use.
According to Josh Englehart of the Branch Hillsdale St. Joseph Community Health Agency, who led student presentations earlier this year, parents will learn about the dangers of vaping, how to recognize warning signs, and strategies for discussing vaping with their children.
Coldwater High School Principal Dr. Steven Hope says they have been attempting to deal with the problem of vaping in the school.
Audio PlayerThe presentation will also focus on the effects of vaping on youth, the cycle of nicotine addiction, and how parents can approach conversations about vaping at home.
