STEVENSVILLE, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School girls varsity softball team improved their record to 4-0 Saturday by beating Edwardsburg 9-7 and Stevensville Lakeshore 18-8 in a tournament hosted by Lakeshore.
Rylie VanAken hit two home runs and drove in four as part of a 16 hit attack for the Lady Cardinals.
Starting pitcher Audrina Bucklin gave 10 hits and seven runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking six. Laynie VanAken csme on in relief.
In the second game, Rylie VanAken drove in five runs on four hits, including a three run homer.
Starting pitcher Laynie VanAken gave up 11 hits and eight runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out 10 and walking four. Mackenzie Searing appeared in relief.
