MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy High School girls softball team earned a split at the Marshall Sports Festival Saturday, falling to the host Redhawks 11-1, but beating Haslett 13-0.
Marshall jumped on top early with four runs in the bottom of the first taking advantage of a few walks and a fielding error along with a couple timely hits.
Quincy tightened up defensively to keep the score within reach but the Redhawks pulled away with a three run home run in the 4th inning and then three more in the 5th to take the game.
Miley Poindexter kept up her hot hitting with a single and triple. Deziray Skirka singled twice plating Miley for Quincy’s lone run. Shaylee Cope also singled.
