Ilah Mae Clark, 94, of Burlington passed away Friday, April 11, 2025 at Lakeland Rehab and Health Center in Angola, Indiana.
In keeping with Ilah’s wishes, she will be cremated and privately interred at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, along with her late husband, George O. Clark, Jr., at a later date.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Ilah was born June 19, 1930 to Floyd and Iva (Shafer) Blashfield in Tekonsha, Michigan. She graduated from Tekonsha High School in 1948.
Ilah worked as a waitress at the Te-Kon Truck Stop as a young lady where she met Robert “Bob” Black. They got married and moved to Clio, Michigan. He passed away in 1969. Ilah then married Leo Dollins and they later divorced as well.
Ilah worked as a secretary for an automotive carrier company in Flint for 20 years, retiring around 1995. During the mid-1990s, Ilah moved back to the area and made her home in Burlington. She married her former high school classmate, George O. Clark, Jr. December 31, 1997 in Branch County. He preceded her in death October 26, 2013.
Ilah was a very creative and crafty person. She was skilled at knitting, crocheting, needle work, and sewing. She enjoyed oil painting, going to bingo, scratch off lotto tickets and playing cards. She was always very witty, fun-loving, and had the gift of gab. In her later years she spent hours talking on the phone with her niece, Shayne. Most importantly, Ilah was so caring, kind, and always showed love her family.
Ilah is survived by her stepchildren, Debra Parkhurst of OK, Brenda Jollies of Mattawan, David Clark of Traverse City, Bobbie Dollins of TN, Kathy Domerese of Fenton, and Ron Dollins of Clio; several step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her several other nieces and nephews; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband George, Ilah was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Bob; her second husband, Leo; her brother Boyd Blashfield; her sisters, Jean Hall, Ruth Dean, and Joan Cooper; and her stepchildren, Tim Clark, Christina Dollins and Ken Dollins.
