DELTON, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy girls soccer team hit the road Friday night and came away with a solid 3-1 victory over Delton Kellogg.
The Panthers struck first, scoring just seven minutes into the match. But Quincy responded quickly – 11 minutes later, Abby Hinds fired a shot from outside the 18-yard box to even the score at 1-1. Before the half ended, Kenzi Maynard added another goal for the Orioles, assisted by Laura Bostic, giving Quincy a 2-1 lead at the break. Early in the second half, Bostic found the net herself to extend the lead to 3-1.
Goalkeeper Danica Swift had a strong night in net, recording 9 saves.
With the win, Quincy improves to 8-2 on the season and remains unbeaten in conference play at 3-0. The team is back on the road Monday for another conference matchup against Springport.
