JACKSON,MI (WTVB)- The Consumers Energy Foundation has announced the top 10 finalists for the Put Your Town on the Map pitch competition, which will provide a total of $50,000 in grant funding for projects in three small towns across the state.
The finalists, selected by the Foundation and the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM), will make their pitches at the Small Town and Rural Development Conference June 9. The top three winners will receive grants worth $25,000, $15,000 and $10,000, respectively.
The City of Bronson is among the ten finalists.
Bronson’s proposal focuses on the creation of two Viking-themed wood sculptures at the City’s Farmer’s Market Pavilion, located downtown. The proposed sculptures pay tribute to the school mascot, and aims to create a striking and meaningful gateway into the market.
The Pavilion serves as a year-round hub for the community. It hosts the City’s farmers market, food truck rallies, and seasonal, holiday, and community events, bringing residents and visitors together.
